Your life as a kick
Creatives — this worked for me.
With over a decade of running creative agencies and over 60,000 projects to date, by far the most fun — and most lucrative — project has been my life.
And yes, my life is a project.
I want to create this fucker.
Too many creatives work on other people’s projects but never work on themselves.
I know — I was one of them.
But then I heard a saying that stopped me in my tracks:
“If your life was a movie, would anyone watch it?”
And that concept — as a creative director — made me think:
“How would I even make that movie?”
Here’s how:
I started by taking on five key roles — roles that helped me shift my mindset and start creating my life like a movie playing out on the big screen of the world.
The Director
I cast the vision. I see the beginning, middle, and end.
I know where the story needs to go, and how the character (me) will evolve.
Big vision. Big vision. Big vision.
The Producer
I pull the resources.
Who do I know that has the skills to help make this happen?
Just like on a film set — no one does it alone.
Same in life. I need a team. People aligned with the vision.
The Writer
Mainly for character development.
I had to ask: “What’s my character going to be?”
And I wrote it down.
My values. My motivations. My goals.
How do I show up in this world?
Wardrobe & Set Design
What does my world look like?
What do I look like in this world?
Vision boards. Pinterest boards. Mood clips.
I’m very visual, so I visualised the world I want to live in.
The Actor
You have to take action.
The vision, the goals, the people, the look —
They mean fuck all if you don’t step into it and act it out in real life.
That’s how movies get made.
And it might just be how you create your life — like it’s a badass film.
Like I said, it’s been working for me.
I’m not sure yet if I’m shooting for a box office hit or a cult classic —
but hey, we’ll see how it goes.
