Keep Creating.
Do you know what the scariest thing about being a creative is, it’s knowing you literally have the power to create your own life.
… and it should be scary, it should fucking terrify you, it terrified me for a long time.
But some divine blessing, you and I have been gifted with the spirit of creativity. We’ve been given something that not every one has, which is the power to alchemise ideas into reality.
Now you might be just be utilising this to take photos, to create content, to write, to do art, to make music, and so far, thats been your medium for this creativity because hey, it has to come out right.
Well, the mission of this channel is to show creatives that they can use this to create the life they want, to get paid for this creative work, and use their skills to change their own world.
This is why I say Keep Creating.
Being creative isn’t a passive thing. Its active.
Being a paid creative, thats even more active.
See the problem is most creatives think, I’ll write this song, I’ll create this artwork, and people will come to me. Wrong.
Thats passive shit.
Even posting your work on Instagram is passive now. Your profile portfolio is just a minimum requirement.
To be a badass creative is ACTIVE.
You have to do the work.
Keep Creating Keep creating.
Do you want to create a photography business? Fuck yeah lets do it! I’ll tell you exactly what I did.
I created skills.
I created a brand.
I created a customer.
I created the work for that customer.
I created an experience.
I created a solution to their problem.
I created a referral system.
I created a delivery system.
I created a reputation.
I created a team.
I created operations and training.
I created a culture.
I created new solutions to more problems.
I created marketing
I created new customers
I created opportunities
Every day I create new solutions to new problems.
Thats just a few aspects of the business.
Because from that I was also creating skills in myself, I was creating confidence, and grit, and resiliency and discipline, and fortitude.
And you might be thinking, Im just pouring coffees now, that seems like a lot of work, I just got a friend of a friend who wants some photos taken of his brand.
Everything! Everything is an opportunity for you to create something special.
Im going to tell you the secret here, this is the magic sauce.
You know right, the more you do something the better you get at it.
Like weight lifting, you move more weights, you get stronger.
The first step, is taking full responsibility for your life, your power and where you’re at right now.
Now, 90% of people wont do this. So if you can, you’re already ahead.
Realise that where you are now, is exactly where you deserve to be based on your actions, or inactions up to this point.
Then once you’ve done that, like reps in the gym, you fucking create everything all day long.
You create create create, you keep creating.
And Im not talking your painting, or your art.
Im talking your life!
If you don’t like your body, start doing the work to create a body your proud of.
If you don’t have the knowledge to do something, read a book, watch a video, actively learn about it.
Create your mind.
Create a relationship or marriage you want by doing the work. Be active.
If you want more clients create more business relationships.
You want a higher income, actively learn about the financial system, create a plan, build your skills.
You want a cleaner house, clean it.
You want to live somewhere in particular, move there.
I hated the education/indoctrination options for my kids, so I created my own school for fuck sake.
Every day Im creating hundreds of things, most have nothing to do with my art.
But Im building those creative muscles. Im doing creative reps all day long.
This is where creatives fail.
This is why I’ve always hated the struggling artist narrative.
If you have a boulder at the bottom of the hill. And you have to get it to the top of the hill. And your at the bottom, and you’re just sitting on the grass next to it.
Your not struggling to get it up the hill. You’re not doing anything. Your sitting there wishing the boulder was up the hill. You might have a dream that one day the boulder will be at the top. You might even be manifesting the boulder up there, with a picture of it on your vision board.
But you sit there. And wonder why it never reaches the top.
Meanwhile, some artist actually start pushing that thing. They’re actually struggling with it. Beads of sweat cascading down their brow. But they’re taking steps forward. It might be slow, it might be hard, but step by step they are reaching the top.
And so can you.
